With this acquisition and new footprint in the East region of the United States, Federal Recycling furthers its position as one of the premier, largest independent recycling companies in the country.

Founded in 1904 by Abe Freedman, Harrisburg Waste Paper Co. has serviced the greater central Pennsylvania region for 100+ years. The company’s strategic location provides Federal Recycling with increased accessibility to new customers in the East and support for the firm’s brokerage activities, both domestic and international.
Aaron Freedman, a fourth-generation family owner of Harrisburg Waste Paper Co., will continue to oversee plant operations as general manager. Freedman has 25 years’ experience in the recycling industry.
